Patriots Wide Receiver Faces Battery Allegations
January 18, 2008 (Otto Smyth) Wide receiver Randy Moss of the New England Patriots will see the inside of a courtroom the week prior to the Super Bowl. Monday January 28th is the date set for a hearing for a complaint filed against him in Broward County Florida. This has been filed by Rachel Washington, it is an alleged situation where Moss committed battery upon the woman. It is also alleged that the battery caused serious injuries after which he refused to allow her to seek medical treatment.

While Moss has not been charged with criminal charges in the matter to date, he has made some statements in the alleged battery lawsuit. Moss stated that he has never placed his hands on a woman in his life in a threatening manner, he went on to say the woman in question Rachel Washington is attempting to abscond funds with allegations that are false. The attorney who represents the New England Patriots and in effect Randy Moss has made no statements about the alleged battery suit filed against Moss by Rachel Washington.

Coach of the Patriots Bill Belichick has come out in defense of Moss and has full confidence this matter will be cleared up, in support of Moss he stated that this allegation will not affect his playing in the Sundays game against the San Diego Chargers.
